Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac Noir around the calm side of the wind. Set the alarm around the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Noir is a Laurentides water, Quebec side. Salt water lies 28 km off. About 6 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Supplies mean a trip to Brownsburg-Chatham, 15 km off. Lachute is 22 km away, with Hawkesbury at 22 km. What else is close: Lac des Cedres sits 0.7 km out, Lac la Marche within 1 km, Lac Bigrow sits 1.2 km out, Lac a Lafleur within 1.3 km and Lac Farmer sits 1.3 km out. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac Noir responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The warmest month averages 19°C, the coldest about -13°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about early December in a typical year. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. The season on Lac Noir follows the weather closely.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac des Cedres at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice. Check the position at Lac Noir before loading the car.
