Overcast skies today, with enough SSW wind to stack food downwind with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Loze along sheltered bays and points. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Loze is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings for Quebec. The water sits 430 metres up. The water measures roughly 2 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. Leblanc is the closest town at 77 km. Normandin follows at 95 km, then Albanel at 101 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean names northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Loze repays a walk before the first cast.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -18°C. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. That is the shape of the year on Lac Loze.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Lac Fouquet is 1.2 km off. Check the position at Lac Loze before loading the car.
