Overcast skies today, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW with a settled glass. On Lac Lalice, work any hard bottom among the soft first. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac Lalice is a Quebec water. It lies 446 metres above sea level. Some 81 km away sits Leblanc, the nearest settlement. The big place round here is Saguenay, 208 km distant. Not far off: Lac Droit a touch under 1.4 km, Petit lac Fouquet within 1.8 km, Lac Beaurrieux a touch under 2.4 km, Lac Fouquet within 2.4 km and Lac Larpiniere a touch under 2.6 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Records held for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean cover northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Work Lac Lalice in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about -18°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Lac Lalice runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Droit, 1.4 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac Lalice is worth confirming on the day.
