Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with next to no ripple and the barometer holding steady. Fish at Lac Lory should hold close to the shaded margin through bright spells. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lac Lory in the Mauricie part of Quebec. The ground around here is mixed forest. This is a pocket water of some 7 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. The nearest town is La Tuque, 12 km away. Then Laurentides, 62 km, and Weymontachie, 79 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout and walleye. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Lory that means starting tight and working out.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -16°C in January. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Open water usually runs from late April until about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Lory.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Lac Carre at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Check the position on Lac Lory before loading the car.
