Dull, settled light over the water, with a steady SSW wind and steady pressure. Give reed fringes and open pockets the first hour at Lac Lorraine. The numbers single out the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Lorraine lies in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, in Quebec. Around the bank it is boreal forest. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. The closest town, Saint-Félicien, is 48 km away. Normandin lies 48 km off, Saint-Prime another 56 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Work Lac Lorraine in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -19°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac Lorraine fishes to that pattern most years.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. L'Etang sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. Treat Lac Lorraine as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
