A grey, even sky over the water, with a kind SSW breeze on the water with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Loon are likely to sit near the shaded margin through bright spells. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

You will find Lac Loon in Outaouais, Quebec. The land about it is mixed forest. At about 37 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Bank access stretches around 3.1 km in total. On our Outaouais list it sits near the top for size. Saint-Boniface lies 81 km from the water. Gatineau is the closest city, 195 km away. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. The near bank of Lac Loon is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -17°C for January. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to late November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Lac Loon to follow that timing.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Limule, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Lac Loon.
