Heavy overcast holding through the day, with light air out of the S and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Lac Long will be around bays that hold the day's warmth. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, you have Lac Long. Land around it is taiga. It runs to roughly 13 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. The bank runs about 2.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Sacré-Coeur is the closest town at 46 km. Saguenay sits 79 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Public occurrence data for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean names northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Work Lac Long in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. The season on Lac Long follows the weather closely.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. For a change of water, Lac des Savanes is 1.6 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Long for certain.
