Showers crossing the water today, with a useful S wind pushing food about and pressure going nowhere. Give bays that hold the day's warmth the first hour at Lac Lirette. The morning is where the day comes good. Ride the conditions while they last. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

In Quebec, Lac Lirette belongs to Mauricie. The ground round it is spruce and muskeg. Roughly 19 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Shoreline comes to about 2.3 km, small enough to learn in a day. The nearest town is Laurentides, 34 km away. Beyond it, La Tuque at 55 km and Saint-Raymond at 58 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Open biodiversity records for Mauricie list northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Lirette the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Lac Lirette follows the weather closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The water borders Zec de la Rivière-Blanche, so reserve rules are likely to apply. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. The nearest alternative is Lac Danielle, 2 km out. Confirm access to Lac Lirette locally before you travel.
