Overcast skies today, with the water lying quiet with the glass holding level. On Lac Limpide, work sheltered bays and points first. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean end of Quebec holds Lac Limpide. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. The water covers some 65 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Around 4.4 km of margin, front to back. Few waters listed in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean are bigger. The town to know is Labrecque, 91 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 104 km distant. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Lac Limpide that means starting tight and working out.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Ice-out usually falls in mid May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Ice usually gives way near mid May, and forms again about early November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Expect Lac Limpide to follow that timing.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac des Roselins at 1.6 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac Limpide.
