Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Ligament along the first drop-off and weed lines. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

The Outaouais end of Quebec holds Lac Ligament. Beyond the shoreline you have mixed forest. At roughly 2 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. On size it sits at the modest end of our Outaouais list. The closest town, Saint-Boniface, is 87 km away. Beyond it, Ferme-Neuve at 94 km and Maniwaki at 99 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Species logged across Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Lac Ligament the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near late November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Lac Ligament runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. If the gate is shut, Lac Pigmente at 1.2 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Ligament for certain.
