A charged sky with storms about, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Lac Bronze is any hard bottom among the soft. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Out in Outaouais, Quebec, sits Lac Bronze. It stands 367 metres above sea level. It covers about 7 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Boniface, 89 km away. For a city, Gatineau is 204 km off. This one is safely inside the county line. Access points are few, so the middle stretches see little traffic.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Anyone new to Lac Bronze should walk it once before setting up.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -17°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. It holds true on Lac Bronze more years than not.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Failing this one, try Lac de l'Argile, 0.8 km away. Ask locally about Lac Bronze if anything is unclear.
