Overcast skies today, with a mirror surface most of the day and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lac Levesque is the margins and the shelf beyond them. The forecast is against you; the night is the least bad option. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Levesque stands in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. The bank is 290 metres above sea level. It measures about 15 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. There is roughly 1.8 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Nearest town is Notre-Dame-du-Lac, 48 km off. After that come Témiscaming at 53 km and Mattawa at 70 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Levesque gives up more to patience than to distance.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -15°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. At Lac Levesque the season follows that pattern closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac du Majeur sits 0.6 km off and takes the overflow. The position on Lac Levesque is worth confirming on the day.
