No direct sun expected today, with a whisper of wind from the W and no real change in pressure. Lac Letour should fish best around the seam between weed and open water today. If you must go, go in the evening. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Letour is a Mauricie water, in Quebec. Around the bank it is lake country bush. It covers about 2 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. Supplies mean a trip to La Tuque, 40 km off. Trois-Rivières sits 159 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. This one is safely inside the county line.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Letour responds to conditions more than to tactics.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. The season on Lac Letour follows the weather closely.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Lac Rheault sits 0.5 km off and takes the overflow. The position on Lac Letour is worth confirming on the day.
