A closed sky with even light today, with a whisper of wind from the SSW with the barometer flat. On Lac Leonard, work the shallows early and the drop later first. The morning should out-fish the rest of the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Laurentides entry here is Lac Leonard, in Quebec. Height above sea level is 339 metres. Some 4.3 km away sits Saint-Sauveur, the nearest settlement. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 35 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Also on the doorstep: Lac Kanawana out at 0.8 km, Lac aux Castors at 0.9 km, Lac Wilson out at 0.9 km, Lac Rond at 1.3 km and Lac Beauchamp out at 1.3 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish Lac Leonard where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Averages here run 19°C at the top of summer and -13°C at the bottom of winter. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Anyone fishing Lac Leonard regularly works to that calendar.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Parking sits 760 m out, which makes for a walk with tackle. There is a pier recorded roughly 740 m away. A campsite lies 1.2 km away for anyone staying over. Toilets show in mapping about 810 m away. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Kanawana sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac Leonard in particular, ask before you travel.
