Look for Lac des Chats in Laurentides, Quebec. Height above sea level is 337 metres. The water covers some 20 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Shoreline comes to about 2.3 km, small enough to learn in a day. Start from Saint-Sauveur, 4.9 km down the road. It is 38 km to Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, the nearest city. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout among the fish reported. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Lac des Chats the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Climate normals give 19°C for July and -13°C for January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac des Chats the season follows that pattern closely.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. You will be walking about 1.4 km from the nearest car park. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Should this one be busy, Lac des Becs-Scie is 0.7 km off. Ask locally about Lac des Chats if anything is unclear.
