Flat light and a covered sky today, with next to no ripple and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Lauzon should be near any hard bottom among the soft. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Outaouais in Quebec is where Lac Lauzon sits. Elevation runs to 181 metres. At about 12 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 1.5 km, small enough to learn in a day. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Some 9.8 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest settlement. Gatineau sits 125 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. No border sits close enough to matter.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. At Lac Lauzon light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The seasonal spread runs -14°C to 18°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Lauzon that shapes the whole year.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lac des Vases at 4 km is the nearest alternative. Where Lac Lauzon is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
