Heavy overcast holding through the day, with an easy breeze from the SSE and pressure going nowhere. Give reed fringes and open pockets the first hour at Lac Laumet. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Quebec holds Lac Laumet, in Nord-du-Québec. The surface lies 526 metres up. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Fermont is the closest town at 236 km. Then Labrador City, 237 km, and Wabush, 242 km. Water in the same corner: Lac Chatenay at 7.2 km, Lac Maubert 11 km away, Lac Desmarquets at 12 km, Lac Gravier 13 km away and Lac Icebound at 15 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Nord-du-Québec list Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Laumet the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 13°C, while January sits near -24°C. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. After late May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Average temperatures cross freezing around late May in spring and again near late October in autumn. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. That is the shape of the year on Lac Laumet.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Failing this one, try Lac Chatenay, 7.2 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Laumet in what we hold.
