A closed sky with even light today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSE and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac Laroche will be around shallow cover and weed edges. The forecast backs the stretch from the day. Settle in and let the day develop. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Within Capitale-Nationale, Quebec, you have Lac Laroche. It lies 342 metres above sea level. It covers about 5 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Nearest town is Saint-Raymond, 20 km off. Laurentides lies 23 km off, Saint-Ubalde another 30 km. Close by you have: Lac des Roches about 0.7 km, Lac Durocher at 0.9 km, Petit lac des Roches about 1 km, Lac au Cochon at 1.1 km and Lac Martinet about 1.1 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Capitale-Nationale cover lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Work Lac Laroche in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -15°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. The season on Lac Laroche follows the weather closely.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is a mapped landing stage 450 m away. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac des Roches, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback.
