Heavy overcast holding through the day, with enough SW wind to stack food downwind with a settled glass. The fish at Lac Lagne are likely to sit near any hard bottom among the soft. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean end of Quebec holds Lac Lagne. The bank is 447 metres above sea level. Around 14 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. Shoreline comes to about 2.2 km, small enough to learn in a day. Some 75 km away sits Leblanc, the nearest settlement. It is 221 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. No border sits close enough to matter.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Fish Lac Lagne where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Seasonal averages run from -18°C in January up to 16°C in July. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Lac Lagne to follow that timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. The nearest alternative is Lac Flize, 1 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Lagne in what we hold.
