Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a persistent wind from the WNW and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac Lacasse along any hard bottom among the soft. The productive run goes the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Lacasse is a Laurentides water, Quebec side. It lies 435 metres above sea level. Surface area runs to about 3 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Laurentides. Nearest place of any size is Mont-Tremblant, 9.3 km away. La Conception is 16 km and Lac-Simon 19 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Treat Lac Lacasse as a water to read rather than to cover.
Seasonal averages run from -14°C in January up to 18°C in July. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. On Lac Lacasse the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. The nearest car park we can see is 1.1 km out, so expect a walk with your gear. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Failing this one, try Lac Levesque, 1.1 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Lacasse in what we hold.
