No direct sun expected today, with a faint SE drift and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Lac Laberge is the margins and the shelf beyond them. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Laberge is set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It sits at 254 metres above sea level. Around 10 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The full circuit measures close to 1.9 km on foot. For a base, Labrecque sits 17 km out. Saguenay sits 53 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Laberge gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -18°C. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. It holds true on Lac Laberge more years than not.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac a Mariette is 0.9 km distant. Check the current arrangement for Lac Laberge.
