Fresh rain topping the water up today, with a light SSW breeze and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Lac Labelle around windblown banks where food collects. The morning is where the day comes good. Ride the conditions while they last. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Laurentides, Quebec, this is Lac Labelle. Elevation runs to 422 metres. At roughly 3 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Laurentides. The nearest town is Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard, 6.2 km away. Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts lies 14 km off, Morin-Heights another 14 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Read Lac Labelle before you fish it and the day goes better.
The range across the year is -14°C to 18°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan any trip to Lac Labelle around it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Inconnu at 0.4 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Labelle for certain.
