No direct sun expected today, with a whisper of wind from the S and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac L'Enclus along structure within a cast of the bank. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac L'Enclus. The shore lies 14 km out. About 10 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. The whole outline is near 1.5 km, and most of it is walkable. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Nearest place of any size is Port-Cartier, 20 km away. It is 335 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac L'Enclus fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-term averages put July at about 16°C and January near -16°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. The season on Lac L'Enclus follows the weather closely.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Manjot sits 1 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac L'Enclus should be assumed from this page alone.
