Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with an easy breeze from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Kileen along the first drop-off and weed lines. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the morning. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

This water sits in Outaouais, Quebec. It sits in lake country bush. The water covers some 19 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. A shoreline of some 3.0 km keeps the choices simple. Wakefield lies 31 km from the water. After that come Shawville at 32 km and Constance Bay at 34 km. What else is close: Lac Croche 0.8 km, Petit lac Rond 1.1 km off, Lac du Chantier 1.2 km, Lac du Castor 2 km off and Lac de la Taupe 2.1 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Kileen gives up more to patience than to distance.
July runs about 19°C on average, January about -13°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. That shapes the year on Lac Kileen.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Failing this one, try Lac Croche, 0.8 km away. For Lac Kileen, the notice at the access point is the final word.
