Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface with the barometer flat. The water to cover at Lac Job is the margins and the shelf beyond them. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Job lies in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The surface lies 409 metres up. At roughly 6 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Chibougamau at 78 km is the nearest place to stop. Chapais is 96 km away, with Normandin at 103 km. Close by you have: Lac Brule about 1.8 km, Lac Bisel just 2.1 km, Lac des Crises about 2.5 km, Lac Boa just 2.5 km and Lac Bouan about 2.6 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Job light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -19°C for January. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early May. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Job.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Should this one be busy, Lac Brule is 1.8 km off. Rules at Lac Job are worth checking on the day.
