Solid cloud cover today, with a soft S wind and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac des Crises along the weed line and any gaps in it. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac des Crises is a Quebec water. Elevation runs to 419 metres. With some 26 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Bank access stretches around 2.9 km in total. Chibougamau is the closest town at 80 km. After that come Chapais at 99 km and Normandin at 100 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Anyone new to Lac des Crises should walk it once before setting up.
The seasonal spread runs -19°C to 16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Anyone fishing Lac des Crises regularly works to that calendar.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Brule sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac des Crises, the notice at the access point is the final word.
