Dull, settled light over the water, with flat calm through the day and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Isaac are likely to sit near windblown banks where food collects. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Look for Lac Isaac in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Elevation runs to 590 metres. It covers about 8 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Supplies mean a trip to Labrador City, 269 km off. Further out sit Wabush (273 km) and Nain (287 km). This one is safely inside the county line.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Open biodiversity records for Côte-Nord list logperch. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. At Lac Isaac light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-run averages give July about 12°C and January about -25°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Winter locks it down, and early June brings it back. The season between ice runs from about early June to late October. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Lac Isaac runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac La Fouille, 5.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Isaac before loading the car.
