Look for Lac Clerac in Côte-Nord, Quebec. It sits in northern bush country. Surface area runs to roughly 1.11 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. The edge covers about 7.1 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Nearest town is Labrador City, 259 km off. The big place round here is Saguenay, 834 km distant. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
We hold no depth figure for this one. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Côte-Nord include logperch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Anyone new to Lac Clerac should walk it once before setting up.
Expect July near 12°C and January near -24°C on the long-run figures. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early June. Climate averages put the opening at about early June and the closing near late October. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan any trip to Lac Clerac around it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Tapie sits 2.7 km off and takes the overflow. What applies at Lac Clerac may have changed since it was mapped.
