A rainy spell sitting over the area, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Lac Inlet are likely to sit near seams where the tide bends around structure. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Inlet lies in Nord-du-Québec, in Quebec. Boreal forest runs right down to the water. Surface area runs to roughly 1.39 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. The edge covers about 14 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. Chibougamau lies 24 km from the water. For a city, Saguenay is 279 km off. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Inlet fishes better once you know its edges.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Inlet.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Failing this one, try Lac du Moulin, 2.2 km away. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Inlet for certain.
