Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a busy SSW wind on the open water and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Hublot, work the margins and the shelf beyond them first. Set the alarm around the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, is where Lac Hublot sits. The bank gives way to boreal forest. With some 11 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. A shoreline of some 2.0 km keeps the choices simple. Nearest town is Saint-Félicien, 37 km off. Normandin is 41 km and Saint-Prime 45 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish among the fish reported. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. The shape of Lac Hublot decides where the fish sit.
July runs about 16°C on average, January about -18°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Plan any trip to Lac Hublot around it.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac en Coude, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the current arrangement for Lac Hublot.
