Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Activity on Lac Haro should centre on shallow cover and weed edges. The night is where the day comes good. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Nord-du-Québec in Quebec is where Lac Haro sits. This is spruce and muskeg country. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Nord-du-Québec list. Chapais sits 82 km from the bank. Further out sit Chibougamau (86 km) and Leblanc (98 km). It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. At Lac Haro the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. That shapes the year on Lac Haro.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. For a change of water, Lac Cardinal is 0.5 km distant. Confirm before you fish Lac Haro.
