Solid cloud cover today, with an easy breeze from the SSW with a settled glass. The water to cover at Lac Hack is the calm side of the wind. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Hack lies within the bounds of Outaouais, Quebec. It stands 281 metres above sea level. At 9 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Saint-Boniface is the closest place, 53 km off. Gatineau is the closest city, 169 km away. Within a short run: Lac Wren 0.5 km, Lac Calament just 1 km, Lac Bliss 1.1 km, Lac Dean just 2.1 km and Lac du Malure 2.3 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Work Lac Hack in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The seasonal spread runs -16°C to 18°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Anyone fishing Lac Hack regularly works to that calendar.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. For a change of water, Lac Wren is 0.5 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Hack for certain.
