No direct sun expected today, with an easy breeze from the S and steady pressure. The water to cover at Lac Gordon is the first drop-off and weed lines. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the evening. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Lac Gordon in the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean part of Quebec. It stands 784 metres above sea level. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Saint-Fulgence lies 21 km from the water. Further out sit Saint-Honoré (27 km) and La Baie (32 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Gordon a short move beats a long cast.
Averages move between -18°C in January and 15°C in July. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Once it clears, about mid May, the fishing comes on quickly. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about early November in an average year. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac Gordon fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Collard, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Gordon for certain.
