No direct sun expected today, with flat calm through the day and pressure going nowhere. On Lac Eva, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Eva is one of the Nord-du-Québec waters in Quebec. It sits at 394 metres above sea level. It measures some 5.10 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. With 21 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It is one of the larger waters we list anywhere in Quebec. Nearest town is Chapais, 59 km off. Chibougamau follows at 87 km, then Waswanipi at 98 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Nord-du-Québec include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout and lake whitefish. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Read Lac Eva for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
The seasonal spread runs -19°C to 16°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. The water is typically free of ice between early May and mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. At Lac Eva the season follows that pattern closely.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Lac Ann sits 4.6 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Eva for certain.
