Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and pressure sitting still. The productive water at Lac Encaisse will be around the seam between weed and open water. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones.

You will find Lac Encaisse in Laurentides, Quebec. The ground round it is pine and birch. The closest town, Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, is 22 km away. For a city, Orléans is 77 km off. Water in the same corner: Petit lac Ross within 1.4 km, 1.7 km away is Lac Treal, Lac Ross within 2.2 km, 2.2 km away is Lac Arlet and Lac Peas within 2.6 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. The county list is broader than any single water. At Lac Encaisse the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Between January at about -14°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. It holds true on Lac Encaisse more years than not.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Petit lac Ross at 1.4 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Encaisse, the notice at the access point is the final word.
