Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a working SSW breeze and pressure going nowhere. On Lac en Croissant, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Set in Outaouais, Quebec, this is Lac en Croissant. The bank gives way to rolling bush. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Start from Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, 18 km down the road. The big place round here is Orléans, 56 km distant. Others within reach: Lac Pinachois within 0.7 km, Lac Tawani 0.8 km off, Lac Wabisi within 0.9 km, Lac Tomahawk 0.9 km off and Lac du Malard within 2.1 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt among the fish reported. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Anyone new to Lac en Croissant should walk it once before setting up.
The year swings from about -14°C in January to roughly 18°C in July. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around late April. The season between ice runs from about late April to late November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Plan any trip to Lac en Croissant around it.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Lac Pinachois is 0.7 km off. Where Lac en Croissant is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
