A grey, even sky over the water, with a busy W wind on the open water and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Lac Duprat will be around the seam between weed and open water. Numbers are low everywhere; the morning is the pick of them. Go lighter and slower than usual. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Duprat falls in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, part of Quebec. Elevation runs to 316 metres. Roughly 3.02 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. Around 21 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. On our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Rouyn-Noranda is 13 km out. Macamic lies 47 km off, La Sarre another 52 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Public occurrence data for Abitibi-Témiscamingue names northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Duprat responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -17°C in January. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Lac Duprat runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Boat access is recorded roughly 1.2 km away. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. For a change of water, Lac Fourcet is 2 km distant. What applies at Lac Duprat may have changed since it was mapped.
