Wet weather working through today, with a light chop building from the SSW with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac du Trappeur should come off the shallows early and the drop later. The forecast is against you; the night is the least bad option. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac du Trappeur is a Côte-Nord water, Quebec side. Everything around it is northern bush. About 6 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. For supplies, Sept-Îles is 14 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 392 km distant. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name logperch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Lac du Trappeur the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
The year swings from about -16°C in January to roughly 16°C in July. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Lac du Trappeur runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Ghyslain sits 0.8 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac du Trappeur in particular, ask before you travel.
