A closed sky with even light today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac du Pommard around the weed line and any gaps in it. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac du Pommard falls in Nord-du-Québec, part of Quebec. The bank is 410 metres above sea level. It measures about 28 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. A shoreline of some 3.1 km keeps the choices simple. Most waters listed here for Nord-du-Québec are larger. Chibougamau at 64 km is the nearest place to stop. After that come Chapais at 82 km and Mistissini at 106 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Nord-du-Québec, recorded fish include Arctic charr, brook trout, lake trout, lake whitefish and cisco. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac du Pommard responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -19°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan any trip to Lac du Pommard around it.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Monsec at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac du Pommard in particular, ask before you travel.
