Overcast skies today, with light air out of the S with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac du Nord should be near bays that hold the day's warmth. One clear peak today: the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac du Nord lies within the bounds of Laurentides, Quebec. The ground round it is mixed forest. About 9 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Around 1.5 km of margin, front to back. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Some 10 km away sits L'Orignal, the nearest settlement. Beyond it, Hawkesbury at 15 km and Papineauville at 23 km. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Laurentides: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Fish Lac du Nord where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
The range across the year is -12°C to 19°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. From about late April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. The season on Lac du Nord rarely departs from it.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Carignan, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lac du Nord carry more weight than any list.
