Flat light and a covered sky today, with light air out of the S and pressure sitting still. The water to cover at Lac a la Perchaude is points where shallow meets deep. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Quebec holds Lac a la Perchaude, in Outaouais. The setting is rolling bush on every side. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. For a base, L'Orignal sits 12 km out. Within a short drive: Lac des Iles 1.6 km away, 1.8 km out stands Lac des Atocas, Lac Schryer 2.1 km away, 2.3 km out stands Lac Maholey and Lac Fabre 2.7 km away. The county line runs close by, so rules can change within a short drive.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Read Lac a la Perchaude for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Average temperature peaks around 19°C in July and bottoms out near -12°C in January. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near early December in autumn. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan any trip to Lac a la Perchaude around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Lac des Iles, 1.6 km out. Nothing here settles the position at Lac a la Perchaude for certain.
