Solid cloud cover today, with a light chop building from the WSW with the glass holding level. Fish at Lac du Neve should hold close to the first drop-off and weed lines. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

In Quebec, Lac du Neve belongs to Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. The shore lies 22 km out. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. For supplies, Saint-Fulgence is 38 km out. Further out sit La Baie (43 km) and Saint-Honoré (49 km). Within a short drive: Lac Mince 1.3 km away, 1.5 km out stands Lac du Recueil, Lac Fondu 1.8 km away, 2.4 km out stands Lac Saxophone and Lac Sorcier 2.4 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Take Lac du Neve a stretch at a time.
In an average year July sits at 15°C and January at -18°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid May. Open water usually runs from mid May until about early November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. The season on Lac du Neve follows the weather closely.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Mince, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac du Neve is worth confirming on the day.
