Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S with the barometer flat. Lac du Liset should fish best around points where shallow meets deep today. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac du Liset sits within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec. The surface lies 292 metres up. It runs to roughly 11 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. About 2.0 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Normandin lies 41 km from the water. Further out sit Albanel (45 km) and Saint-Félicien (57 km). One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. At Lac du Liset the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The warm month here averages 17°C; the cold one sits at -19°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. On Lac du Liset the same rules apply, with local timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Should this one be busy, Lac Mazeley is 0.9 km off. None of that is settled for Lac du Liset in what we hold.
