An even grey lid over the water, with a gentle ripple from the SSE and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Lac Andre will be around reed fringes and open pockets. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Andre is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. With some 13 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 1.6 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. 43 km away sits Normandin, the nearest town. Albanel follows at 46 km, then Saint-Félicien at 60 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Andre fishes better once you know its edges.
The warmest month averages 17°C, the coldest about -19°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. That shapes the year on Lac Andre.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. The nearest alternative is Lac des Paul, 1.2 km out. Treat Lac Andre as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
