Rain on and off through the day, with a light SSE breeze with the glass holding level. Fish at Lac du Fly should hold close to the shallows early and the drop later. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Out in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec, sits Lac du Fly. The bank is 275 metres above sea level. It measures about 14 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. There is roughly 2.0 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Supplies mean a trip to Normandin, 23 km off. It is 141 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac du Fly responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Long-run averages give July about 17°C and January about -19°C. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. It holds true on Lac du Fly more years than not.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Failing this one, try Lac des Iles, 1.7 km away. None of that is settled for Lac du Fly in what we hold.
