Dull, settled light over the water, with hardly a ripple anywhere and steady pressure. The fish at Lac du Dard are likely to sit near reed fringes and open pockets. Quiet conditions all day, with the evening marginally better. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac du Dard is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean waters in Quebec. The water sits 692 metres up. It is pond-in-a-field scale, with the far bank a short lob away. It is a small entry by Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean standards. For a base, Saint-Honoré sits 48 km out. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 60 km away. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Take Lac du Dard a stretch at a time.
Between January at about -19°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac du Dard.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Frappe-a-Bord sits 0.6 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac du Dard in what we hold.
