Dull, settled light over the water, with a light chop building from the WSW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac du Cep around windblown banks where food collects. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Within Côte-Nord, Quebec, you have Lac du Cep. It sits at 569 metres above sea level. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Côte-Nord. For supplies, Forestville is 85 km out. For a city, Saguenay is 106 km off. Close by you have: Lac de la Mie near enough 1 km, Lac Clos out at 1 km, Lac Celte near enough 1.3 km, Lac du Col out at 1.8 km and Lac Rac near enough 1.8 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac du Cep responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Average temperature peaks around 16°C in July and bottoms out near -18°C in January. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Plan any trip to Lac du Cep around it.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac de la Mie at 1 km is the sensible second choice. Check the current arrangement for Lac du Cep.
