Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac du Camp should centre on structure within a cast of the bank. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
In Quebec, Lac du Camp belongs to Mauricie. The setting is spruce and muskeg on every side. Roughly 23 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The shoreline runs about 5.1 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. Start from Leblanc, 73 km down the road. Trois-Rivières sits 286 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac du Camp the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan any trip to Lac du Camp around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac des Etables at 2.3 km is the sensible second choice. Confirm before you fish Lac du Camp.
