Dull, settled light over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Lac Doug around inflow corners and shaded margins. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Doug stands in Côte-Nord, Quebec. Around the bank it is spruce and muskeg. This is a pocket water of some 3 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is a small entry by Côte-Nord standards. The town to know is Baie-Comeau, 31 km out. Hauterive lies 31 km off, Chute-aux-Outardes another 41 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lac Doug a short move beats a long cast.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Lac Doug.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Failing this one, try Lac Therese, 0.8 km away. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Doug for certain.
