Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac Donnery along the shallows early and the drop later. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Donnery in the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean part of Quebec. The bank gives way to boreal forest. It covers about 3 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list holds plenty of bigger water. The town to know is Normandin, 23 km out. Saint-Félicien lies 30 km off, Albanel another 31 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Treat Lac Donnery as a water to read rather than to cover.
Expect July to average close to 17°C, with January the cold end at about -18°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Anyone fishing Lac Donnery regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Lac Secheras is 0.4 km distant. Nothing on Lac Donnery should be assumed from this page alone.
